We started with a lovely drive through the Red Deer River Valley from Drumheller to highway 36. Past the coal-fired electricity generation plant by Hanna, where the coal from the mine on one side of the highway is sent via conveyor belt under the highway to the plant on the other side. From there it was sunny Canola fields all the way to Saskatoon.
In Saskatoon, we visited Broadway street for dinner before heading to Diefenbaker Park to take in the Canada Day festivities. We were treated to a great performance by Platinum Blonde followed by an awesome display of fireworks.
